This recipe is really up to you on how healthy or unhealthy you want to make it. I made these today as lettuce wrap tacos. You are more than welcome to use flour, corn or hard shell tortillas. Heck, you can use this taco recipe to make a taco salad or nachos or in a seven-layer dip! It’s really up to you! Be creative or not, either way let’s enjoy taco Tuesday anyway!
Here’s what you’ll need:
Taco seasoning:
2 1/2 teaspoon Ground Cumin
2 1/2 teaspoons Chili Powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon Cayenne pepper
1 1/2 tablespoons Garlic powder
1 1/2 tablespoons of Onion powder
1 tablespoon Paprika
Everything else:
1 large garlic clove minced
1/4 cup Diced onion
1 pound ground bison
2/3 cups of water
Bibb lettuce or taco shells of choice
In a small bowl mix together taco seasoning.
On medium heat in a large skillet sauté onions for a couple of minutes until softened.
Add ground bison and minced garlic and cook until browned.
Add seasoning and cook until fragrant about 1-2 minutes.
Add water and reduce heat to simmer for 5-8 minutes until thickened.
Remove from heat and use this taco meat for whatever your heart desires.
