“Sour Cream” & Chive Dip (Spoiler Alert: It’s Greek Yogurt)

IMG_9059If you are a sicko like me and order extra sour cream on everything this dupe is for you! I substitute plain Greek Yogurt any chance I get to cut some unnecessary calories. Depending on the brand of sour cream and yogurt, Daisy sour cream has 60 calories per 2 tablespoons, whereas Faye Total 0% Plain Greek Yogurt has 100 calories per 6 ounces! That’s 1 ounce of sour cream to 6 ounces of Greek yogurt! The math speaks for itself, this is a no brainer swap out! You aren’t compromising flavor either since plain Greek yogurt tastes exactly like sour cream. I substitute sour cream on baked potatoes, beef stroganoff, tacos, and anytime sour cream is a condiment, I’m making the swap. Why not cut those calories when you can? I even use this for my loaded mashed potatoes. I made the swap without telling Scott’s dad and after dinner I confessed I made the swap and he’s been hooked ever since.

This is a quick and easy dip for an afternoon snack or for any party! Don’t tell your guests you used Greek yogurt and surprise them after!

Here’s what you’ll need:

1 cup plain non-fat Greek yogurt

1/4 cup chopped chives

pinch of salt

Mix together yogurt, chopped chives, and a pinch of salt. Serve chilled and along side your choice of potato chips, raw veggies, or even use this to top your baked potato.
