Scottsdale: Original Chopshop Co.

If you’re in the Scottsdale area and are looking for a healthy but good foodie spot for lunch this is right up your alley! I’m convinced they put crack in their food, because for some reason this is the only place I want to eat at everyday especially when I’m craving something hearty and healthy. They have everything from Superfruit bowls, fresh pressed juices, salads, smoothies, breakfast, protein bowls, and even food for the little ones. The food is all organic, no antibiotics, no preservatives, no hormones, and everything is sourced from local farms. Everything is made to order and worth the wait! The lunch rush can get a little hectic with lines out the door.

The way it works is, you order your food at the counter and if you’re dining in, they give you a number and you have a seat and someone will deliver it out to you. Seating is first come first serve, so this can get tricky. They offer indoor seating and outdoor seating where pets are welcomed! I brought Frito with me a few times and they have a water bowl outside on the patio in case he gets thirsty. The tables are either two-seaters with the occasional picnic table to seat 4 or more, but those are hard to come by. A local tip to avoid the line, is to call your order in ahead of time and there is a separate pick up register that you can easily walk up to, grab your food and find a table to enjoy it. If you’re going with two or more, I suggest one person gets the food, and the other fends for a table.

Let’s finally talk food! I am obsessed with the Tri-Tip Protein bowl with forbidden rice. I want to eat this every day! No joke. All protein bowls come with your choice of forbidden rice, quinoa, brown rice, or sweet potato hash. They also automatically come with roasted vegetables like carrots, cauliflower, and broccoli.  The Tri-Tip bowl comes with a sweet-soy sesame sauce and it is amazing! Alternatively, the Acai Superfruit bowl is ridiculous as well! My new favorite is the BBQ Chicken Chop Salad with corn nuts!! You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu and after eating there, you still feel good about it! I appreciate their farm to table wholesome concept.

The Scottsdale location is right in Old Town Scottsdale, so you can make a day out of it by grabbing lunch and the do a little window shopping while you’re at it and bring Fido too, since most of the shops are pet friendly and there is a handful of speciality pet stores there. If you plan it right you can check out the Artwalk on Thursday nights or the farmers market in Old Town on Saturdays.

Here’s the glimpse at the menu and you can decide for yourself.
